He said the aim is to develop the cooperative sector on the lines of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: Minister for State Cooperatives Dr Arvind Kumar Sharma said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of developing India by 2047 must be realized by involving more and more people in the field of cooperatives. To this end, in the coming days special camps will be organized in all district headquarters, through which people will be informed about cooperatives so that they can become self-sufficient by forming their own groups and joining cooperatives.
He said there is immense potential to become self-reliant by adopting cooperation. In the coming times, under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, the cooperative sector in the state will be developed on the lines of Gujarat and Maharashtra. Cooperative Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma addressed the state level function organized at Tagore Auditorium of Rohtak Maharishi Dayanand University as the chief guest of the 71st Cooperative Week. He said that the country is continuously progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanks to the very effective policies of Union Cooperative Minister Amit Shah, the cooperative sector is establishing new dimensions.
He said that Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is implementing plans to promote cooperation, and people associated with the cooperative sector are getting direct benefits from this. The cooperative minister said that until a few years ago there was demand for Haryana dairy products in other states, but there seemed to be a stagnation in the middle, now they have to be given impetus again.

He said HAFED products are also exported to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Giving instructions to all the officials of the Cooperative Department present at the function, he said that they must work so effectively that in a few days there will be a 20 to 25 per cent increase in the cooperative sector. He said there are around 33,000 government committees in the state of Haryana, with around 55 lakh members, including youth, elderly and women, associated. All these people do their work in groups. He said by forming small groups, citizens can join the cooperative sector and establish petrol pumps, gas agencies and warehouses. To do this, the government provides loans at affordable interest rates.
