Jharkhand: From Kalpana Soren to Babulal Marandi… the credibility of these veterans is at stake in the second phase.

The credibility of many veterans is at stake in the second phase in Jharkhand.

Due to water, forests, land and excellent quality of coal, Jharkhand is renowned not only in the country but also abroad. Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district, known as Coal City, has its eyes on 16 Koyalanchal seats, parties have strengthened their public relations, programs of central leaders, who are among the star activists, are being organized at a pace fast. .

In Jharkhand, voting for 43 seats in the first phase was completed on November 13, while voting for 38 seats in the second phase will be held on November 20. In such a situation, along with the 18 seats of Santhal Pargana, the 16 seats of Koylanchal will prove to be a decisive factor in the power of Jharkhand.

Koylanchal changed policy

After the 2019 assembly elections, a lot has changed in Koyalanchal politics. Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, the party of former chief minister and current Jharkhand BJP state president Babulal Marandi, has ceased to exist. On February 17, 2020, just a few months after the end of the 2019 elections, Babulal Marandi’s JVM party merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Apart from this, the Marxist Coordination Committee (MASS) of AK Rai party has also ceased to exist in Koylanchal, MASS has merged with CPI(ML) in Koylanchal. The Jharkhand Democratic Revolutionary Front (JLKM) party also emerged under the leadership of Jairam Mahato in Koilanchal. For these reasons, the 2024 assembly elections are going to be held in Koylanchal with a different political change and a new equation compared to 2019.

Babulal Marandi’s contest with Nizamuddin

A total of 16 seats of Koyalanchal are divided into three districts, which include Bokaro district, Giridih district and Dhanbad district. If we talk about popular seats, there is a lot of talk about Dhanwar seat in Giridih district. Bharatiya Janata Party state president and state’s first chief minister Babulal Marandi will take on Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s Nizamuddin Ansari and CPML’s Rajkumar Yadav. However, to ruin Babulal Marandi’s game, BJP rebel Niranjan Rai is contesting as an independent candidate.

Kalpana Soren competes with Muniya Devi

Talking about the second most prominent seat of Koyalanchal, this seat is Gandey. Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA co-candidate Kalpana Soren is contesting from Gandey, Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Munia Devi as its candidate against her, Munia Devi is the president of Giridih District Council .

triangle quiz in dumri

Apart from this, if we talk about other seats, the political credibility of Baby Devi, wife of late Tiger Jagannath Mahato and a cabinet minister in the current government, is also at stake. She is the candidate of AJSU party’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in the Dumri assembly, which is part of the NDA alliance, and has fielded Yashoda Devi against him. However, JLKM chief Jairam Mahato has also opposed this position. That is why we are seeing a triangular contest here.

Apart from this, if we talk about other seats, instead of former minister Rajendra Prasad Singh, his son and INTUC leader Kumar Jai Mangal alias Anoop Singh is contesting from Bermo. Currently, Anoop Singh is an MLA and a Congress candidate. The Bharatiya Janata Party has chosen Ravindra Pandey as its candidate against him. Bermo is currently one of the hot spots of Koyalanchal.

Whose credibility is at stake in which seat?

Along with this, Giridih MLA cum Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate Sudivya Kumar Sonu, Bagodar MLA cum CPI-ML candidate Vinod Kumar Singh, Jamua MLA Kedar Hazra, Gomia MLA candidate Dr Lambodar Mahato, Chandankiyari MLA and Opposition Leader Amar Kumar Bauri, Nirsa MLA Aparna Sengupta, Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha, Jharia MLA Purnima Neeraj Singh, Tundi MLA Mathura Prasad Mahato, etc. All eyes are on the 16 seats in Koyalanchal, where voting will be held on November 20. It has to happen.

coal mine equation

If we look at the Koyalanchal equation, out of 16 seats in 2019, the NDA won 8 seats, the alliance candidates also won with the same number of seats. However, this time the political equation has changed a lot. Five MLAs who won from Koyalanchal in the 2019 assembly elections cannot contest the 2024 elections due to various reasons.
