A woman sobbed in a corner of Jhansi Medical College, Uttar Pradesh. His sobs brought tears to other patients’ eyes. Family members comforted him, but they also cried. The doctors and hospital staff present there were also excited. When the people around wanted to know the reason, they learned that this woman had lost her only child due to a fire in the children’s room.
The woman’s name was Sanjana and the following Saturday she gave birth to a son in the hospital. The family members were very happy. Because after many years he achieved so much happiness. When they tried to talk to Sanjana, the family members stopped her. I just said… the hospital’s negligence took everything away from him, this hospital gave him such a wound that it will never heal.
There was another woman nearby, whose name was Neelu. She also gave birth to a son in the hospital. She was sitting unconscious in the emergency room as if she had turned to stone. Relatives said that after many wishes a son was born. But I don’t know whose eyes caught my attention. Neelu’s son also suffered severe burns due to the fire in the children’s ward, and later died.
The relatives of the deceased children present at the hospital said that when this accident occurred, the staff present inside the children’s ward began to flee. No one thought about who would save the children. When the fire occurred, no fire alarm sounded and no fire safety equipment operated. In a hurry, they broke the living room windows and took the children out.
When did the accident occur?
On Friday at 10:30 p.m. a fire broke out in the children’s room due to a short circuit. After this, the oxygen cylinder exploded. In this accident, 10 children died and 16 were seriously injured. CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered an inquiry into this accident. At the same time, the officers were instructed to give compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
Other patients also seemed worried.
Other patients also seemed concerned about the fire at the hospital. TV 9 met with two parents who had brought their son here from Lalitpur for treatment, but the fire broke out. The family members allege that the hospital management told them to take the child to a private hospital. Since he was from a very poor family. So I couldn’t go anywhere else. I sat in the cold all night with the children to receive treatment. Then the TV 9 team contacted the police officer and not only informed him, but also urged him that the treatment of these children is very important. Finally the children, who had been waiting for treatment all night, were admitted to the hospital.
