The fire occurred due to a short circuit in the oxygen concentrator between 10:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. The fire spread quickly and caused extensive damage to units inside.
The fire alarm and water sprinklers did not work, causing delays in rescue operations. The hospital’s fire extinguishers had expired between one and three years ago.
