Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav had arrived at Ghaziabad’s Hindon airport by a private plane from Lucknow as per his scheduled schedule to address the election rally in the Mirapur by-elections. Even after waiting for several hours, the helicopter from Agra could not arrive due to bad weather and Air Force practices in Agra.

After waiting for a long time at the Ghaziabad airport, Akhilesh Yadav left for Delhi with Shah Mohammad, husband of Meerpur candidate Sambul Rana.

For Meerapur Assembly, Akhilesh Yadav will come to campaign for the candidate in the Muzaffarnagar Assembly by-election, Meerapur, through a road show and Rath Yatra on November 18.

Akhilesh’s rally in Meerapur canceled

Akhilesh Yadav’s rally in Meerapur assembly constituency was canceled on Saturday as his helicopter was not given permission to take off from Hindon. The demonstration would be held in the village of Kakroli.

SP district president Zia Chaudhary told reporters that the rally was canceled after his (Yadav’s) helicopter did not receive permission to take off from Hindon airport. SP announced that Yadav will now lead a roadshow in the constituency on November 18.

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister will seek support for party candidate Sumbul Rana contesting from the Meerapur seat. The by-elections for the assembly constituency will be held on November 20.

During that time, he kept taking pictures with the people there and kept talking to them, but then after getting clearance, his helicopter left.
