The first electric bicycle was developed by the Honda company. It was called Honda CUV:ES. There was also a full form of this name. Its name was Clean Urban Vehicle Electric Scooter. Now Honda has brought its new Activa electric scooter with this concept.
This scooter became the inspiration for the modern scooter.
This electric scooter from Honda was based on the then popular Honda Dio scooter model. At that time it was sold only in Japan in limited quantities. At that time, battery technology and battery charging facilities were not that common. But Honda continued working on this scooter. At that time, this scooter had a range of 38 miles, that is, about 60 km and its average speed was about 25 km per hour.

However, in the same model, the company developed the EV-Neo in 2009 and the PCX electric scooter in 2018. Now the company has said that it will launch CUV ee ICON e in 2024.

Well, Honda is not going to stop here. It has also announced the launch of the electric version of its most popular scooter ‘Activa’ in India. It may be presented during the Auto Expo in November of this year or early next year.
India made its own electric scooter
India launched its first smart electric scooter in the year 2018. This work was done by Ather Energy, which was developed by two engineers from IIT Madras after 5 years of hard work. The Ather 450 was recognized as India’s first electric scooter. However, before that, in 2006, YoBikes had launched its limited range electric scooters in India.
