Hyderabad Crime Branch has revealed a major case of robbery in Mandaruni village of Balasore district of Odisha. During investigation, more than Rs 20 lakh was recovered, which was hidden in a dung heap. In this robbery case, the police have arrested a woman and her son, while the main accused is a fugitive.
This theft case came to light when an Agro Industries company in Hyderabad lodged a complaint of theft of around Rs 21 lakh from its office. The agribusiness expressed suspicions about a person named Gopal Behera. Apparently, before committing the crime, Gopal turned off the company’s CCTV cameras and then fled with the money.
He took the money to the town and hid it in a pile of dung.
After the robbery, Gopal gave the money to his brother-in-law Rajendra Behera. Rajendra took the money to his village, Mandaruni, and buried it in a dung heap near his house. He felt that this place was so insignificant that no one would pay attention to it. However, thanks to police intelligence and continued investigation, this hidden money was recovered. During the investigation, the Crime Branch team tried to trace Gopal, but he fled from the spot. However, his brother-in-law Rajendra and his mother have been arrested. The interrogation of both continues to discover who else was involved in this robbery.
Police raid searching for Gopal
Police continuously conduct raids at different places in search of Gopal Behera. The crime branch is trying to find out if people other than Gopal were involved in carrying out the robbery. This method of hiding money was so unique that it became a topic of discussion among the local population. It is surprising that someone would hide such a large amount of money in a common place like a pile of manure. Police are trying to nab the main accused at the earliest. At the same time, the interrogation of the detainees continues in order to reveal the entire robbery conspiracy.
