Ten newborns died in a tragic fire that occurred on Friday night at the Medical College in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The fire occurred in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Faculty of Medicine, causing mourning in all the surrounding areas. As soon as the fire started there was a stampede at the hospital. During this time, Father Yakum Mansoori was sleeping on the path. Yakum woke up from sleep due to the noise of the fire.
After this, hearing the noise, they broke the window and went inside and took out many children. But he was unable to save his two daughters. When officials showed him some burned bodies for identification, he couldn’t even recognize his daughters. This incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. Many parents were spoken to about this case and many parents, along with Yaqum Ansari, expressed their pain.

At the moment, in this case it is believed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. After the incident, many parents were seen crying for their children outside the medical college. The faces of many women were hidden behind veils, but their pain was clearly visible in their screams. The woman named Santoshi, who had given birth to a child just 11 days ago, said she came running when the fire broke out, but no one told her what was happening and she too could not save her child.
10 children died in fire
According to the victims, 10 children died during the fire, while 16 others were seriously injured. Sanjana, a sad mother, said that she had admitted her son born here when she was seven months pregnant, but due to the fire her son also died. Another father named Sonu said he admitted his son to the NICU for about a month, but he also lost his life in the fire.
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased and has also ordered a three-tier probe into the incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over this tragic incident and announced an aid of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased.

This incident has highlighted deficiencies in security management in health centers. Experts say that to prevent this type of incident, it is necessary to reinforce security measures in hospitals. The police and local administration are also seriously investigating the matter so that such unpleasant incidents do not occur in future.
