In the 2014 assembly election results, Sada Saravankar defeated MNS leader Nitin Sardesai by 5,941 votes. Sada Saravankar got 46,291 votes. MNS leader Nitin Sardesai got 40,350 votes. BJP’s Vilas Ambekar came in third position.
The MNS leader won in 2009
Nitin Sardesai was elected MLA of MNS party in the 2009 assembly elections. Nitin Sardesai then contested the elections as a Congress candidate and defeated Sada Saravankar. Nitin Sardesai’s margin of victory in this seat was 8,926 votes.
