If he had once supported Ajit, how did Pawar now become a political trap for Fadnavis?
The ongoing political cold war between two big NDA leaders, Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis in Dangal, Maharashtra, is making headlines. There are two big reasons for this. Firstly, after a statement by Ajit, Fadnavis called him a leader who is with the anti-Hindutva people.
The second reason for discussion is the friendship between Ajit and Fadnavis even before the elections. Before the assembly elections, there was a lot of speculation about Ajit coming to the NDA through Fadnavis in 2023. The biggest discussion between them was about leaving the NDA and fighting alone.
However, it is said that thanks to Fadnavis’s advocacy he got a place in the NDA. In such a situation, political significance is being drawn from Fadnavis’ statement against Ajit at the time of elections. From Mumbai to Delhi the question is being asked: Has Ajit become a political trap for Fadnavis in the NDA?
Fadnavis joins CM race
Devendra Fadnavis’ currency, which has weakened politically since the Lok Sabha elections, still appears to be in force. Fadnavis is the only local BJP leader who organizes 4-4 rallies for his candidates every day. Recently he has also been projected for the post of CM in a symbolic manner.
In such a situation, it is said that every activity of Ajit is directly affecting the political future of Fadnavis.
How Ajit has become in France, 4 points
1. Malik was sent despite opposition from the BJP
Nawab Malik is a veteran NCP leader. He has been a minister in the Maharashtra government, but the BJP has always been an attacker against him. The BJP had attacked him many times when he was a minister in the Uddhav government. After leaving the government, Nawab was accused of receiving money from the Dawood gang.
Nawab Malik went to jail for this case. Currently out on bail. The NCP has given him the symbol of Mankhurd Nagar seat. The BJP did not want Nawab to be a candidate. Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar had openly opposed it.
Despite this, Ajit gave the symbol to Malik. Malik’s daughter Sana is also in the fray from Anushaktinagar. Nawab Malik has become a trap for the BJP in Mumbai politics.
2. He gave the issue to the opposition by taking Adani’s name.
Ajit Pawar, who is trying to justify the split of the NCP, has put pressure on the BJP with a statement. In fact, in an interview, Ajit said that industrialist Gautam Adani was also present at Sharad Pawar and Amit Shah’s meeting to form the government in 2019.
The Congress and Uddhav’s party immediately took advantage of this statement of Ajit. The opposition accused Maharashtra of running the government through industrialists. The opposition has made this a big issue in Mumbai and Dharavi.
After this statement by Ajit, the BJP is busy doing damage control. BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis blames Sharad Pawar for the entire matter.
3. Batenge openly opposed to Katenge
After the setback in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has also started the exercise of religious polarization in Maharashtra with the help of ‘Batenge to Katenge’, but Ajit has openly opposed it. In two shows so far, Ajit has said that this is against Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.
The NDA is falling out of favor because of this outspokenness of Ajit. Seeing Ajit, BJP leaders also started protesting against it. In such a situation, it is said that the “Batenge to Katenge” slogan should not be entangled in infighting.
To calm Ajit’s opposition, Fadnavis has also played the role of Hindutva, but the younger Pawar is not willing to back down on this issue. It is said that Ajit does not want his support base to decrease due to this BJP slogan.
4. Give air to caste politics
Ajit Pawar is not far behind in promoting caste politics. In a recent interview, he even said that I don’t think OBC voters will directly vote for the BJP and Mahayuti.
Pawar further said that now even the Vanjara community is not accepting the BJP’s call. Earlier, at the behest of Gopinath Munde, they used to get votes together.
The BJP is said to be trying to conduct all elections on a religious basis. In such a situation, the way Ajit makes statements on religion, the party’s problems may increase.
Maratha, Dalit, tribal and OBC communities have been dominant in Maharashtra. Here the 10 percent Brahmins also play an important role in victory and defeat.
