He had refused to do so. He said, ‘Devendra Fadnavis has called for a ‘vote war’. I ask the Election Commission: does the crusade fit into their ideal code of conduct?

What did Devendra Fadnavis say?

Fadnavis had claimed at a rally in Pune on Friday that some Islamic scholars had called for a “vote-jihad” against the Mahayuti government, in response to which he had called for a “vote-crusade”. Thackeray attacked the BJP and said that now this party is full of opportunistic leaders who have come from outside. He said, “The BJP, which grew through the sacrifice and dedication of its workers, has now become a hybrid, which has become a breeding ground for opportunistic politics.”

Rajnath Singh attacked Uddhav

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday expressed disappointment with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, accusing him of compromising his principles for the sake of political power. At an election rally in Pune ahead of the Maharashtra elections due on November 20, Singh said, “I have a lot of respect for late Balasaheb Thackeray. But the way Uddhav ji kept aside the principles of power,” It makes me very sad “Forming a government is no big deal. A true leader is one who does not deviate from his principles even in difficult times.”
