State government launched special campaign against criminals and drug traffickers: CM
Punjab News (Aaj Samaj), Chandigarh: Chief Minister of State Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is our responsibility to strengthen the security of the State. The state government has launched a special campaign against criminals and drug peddlers to provide people with a safe and fear-free environment. The police have special importance in this government effort. Due to this, to increase the efficiency of the police, the state government has decided to create 10,000 new posts in the force.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the newly appointed youth will use their positions to help and serve the needy and backward sections of the society. He said the newly appointed youth should ensure the welfare of maximum people so that all sections of the society can benefit from it.

Young people will have employment opportunities
The Chief Minister said that this decision will help, on the one hand, curb crime and, on the other hand, create new employment opportunities for the youth. He said Punjab Police is equipped with advanced technology to maintain law and order in the state. He said that the Road Safety Force launched by the State Government is functioning successfully and since its inception, the Force has managed to reduce the rate of road accident deaths in the State by about 45 per cent.
Earlier, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav welcomed the guests during the programme, while Home Affairs Secretary Gurkeerat Kirpal Singh thanked everyone. On this occasion, Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, Special Chief Secretary to Chief Minister VK Singh, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Ravi Bhagat and other officials were present.
