A shocking case of negligence by doctors has come to light in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH) A patient’s eye was found missing after his death. As soon as the relatives of the deceased saw this, they created a ruckus.
In fact, a person named Funtoosh was admitted to the NMCH hospital on November 14 after he was shot in the Nalanda violence. Due to his serious condition, Funtoosh was transferred to the ICU. During treatment, the doctor declared Funtoosh dead on the morning of November 15. Now Funtoosh’s family has accused the hospital doctor of gouging out his eye after his death.
The left eye of the deceased is missing
According to Funtoosh’s relatives, ‘the criminals shot him in the stomach, after which he was admitted to the hospital on the 14th. The operation was carried out during the day and Funtoosh died at night. The family members made all efforts for the autopsy, but due to the night, the autopsy could not be performed so the body was left on the ICU bed. When preparations for the autopsy began on Saturday morning, the deceased’s left eye was found missing and a scalpel was kept nearby.

While talking to Aaj Tak, Ankit Kumar, nephew of the deceased, said, ‘My uncle died last night during treatment, the autopsy was not done in the evening, after that when he went to see the body in the ICU. In the morning his left eye was missing. We suspect the hospital staff who removed my uncle’s eye.

Seeing the growing commotion, Dr Vinod Kumar, superintendent of NMCH Hospital, came forward, gave a clarification and said, ‘Either someone has gouged out his eye or a rat has damaged it. In both circumstances it will be considered our fault. It is being verified. A four-member team has been formed to investigate and whoever is found guilty will be punished.

Patna city ASP Atulesh Jha said his team is investigating all points and statements are being taken from the family members. He said CCTV is also being examined and whoever is guilty will not be spared.
