Delhi News: AAP leader Kailash Gehlot quit party

Resignation sent to party supremo Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi News (Aaj Samaj), New Delhi: In a blow to the Aam Aadmi Party, which is gearing up for the assembly elections, the party’s senior leader Kailash Gehlot has resigned from the party. It should be known that Kailash Gehlot has enormous stature in the party. Kailash Gehlot, who held the charge of Department of Transport and Environment in the previous Delhi government, was also sworn in as minister this time.

This time Kailash had won from the Najafgarh assembly seat by defeating Ajit Singh Kharkhari of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Last time, when Gehlot was Environment Minister, several measures were taken regarding Delhi’s air, as a result of which a 25 per cent reduction in pollution was recorded.

Resigned from primary party membership

According to information received from news agencies, Gehlot highlighted serious problems in the letter written to the CM. He also pointed out that it is now clear that there can be no real progress for Delhi if the Delhi government spends most of its time fighting the Centre. “I have no other option but to part ways with you and therefore, I resign from being a senior member of the Aam Aadmi Party.”

Here BJP announced the State Election Steering Committee

On the one hand, internal divisions have begun to emerge in the Aam Aadmi Party following the resignation of Kailash Gehlot, while the Delhi BJP has announced the State Election Steering Committee. State president Virendra Sachdeva will chair the committee. Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra has been appointed convener of the committee. National general secretary Dushyant Gautam, MP Manoj Tiwari and former Delhi government minister Arvinder Singh Lovely will be the co-conveners of the committee.
