Schools closed: After Delhi, the Haryana government also decided to keep schools closed due to rising air pollution. In Haryana, primary schools in four districts have closed due to pollution and smog. Taking into account the health of children, physical education classes for fifth graders have been suspended in schools in four districts.

Air pollution hits Haryana

Air pollution in Delhi remains in the ‘severe’ category for the fifth day. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) remained above 400 at 14 places in Delhi at 7 am on Sunday (November 17, 2024). According to media reports, 37 per cent of air pollution in Delhi is due to stubble burning in neighboring states. Apart from this, AQI has reached close to 400 in many districts of Haryana. Due to dangerous air pollution, the Haryana government has decided to close primary schools in many districts.

Primary schools closed in these Haryana districts

The Haryana government has decided to keep primary schools closed until further orders due to air pollution in Gurugram, Rohtak, Sonipat and Jhajjar districts. However, this will not affect the children’s education. The state government has asked these schools to shift to online education.

Schools may be closed in these 10 Haryana cities

If the situation worsens, schools could be closed in 10 more cities, including Faridabad, Nuh, Rewari, Panipat, Palwal, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Mahendragarh, Jind and Karnal. There are 14 cities of Haryana in NCR. In view of this, the State Education Department had given the deputy commissioners of all districts the freedom to take a decision on licenses after assessing the pollution and smog situation.

Primary schools also closed in Delhi until further order

We tell you that due to air pollution in Delhi, it has been decided to keep all primary schools closed until further orders. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said that due to air pollution, all schools have been asked to conduct online studies.
