The Aam Aadmi Party has suffered a major setback in Delhi. Senior party leader and Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot has resigned as a senior member of the AAP. If sources are to be believed, his resignation has also been accepted. Upon resigning, Kailash Gehlot wrote a letter to AAP national coordinator Arvind Kejriwal in which he made many allegations.
Letter to Kejriwal
In a letter written to Kejriwal, Kailash Gehlot said, ‘I want to tell you that today the Aam Aadmi Party is facing serious challenges. The party faces challenges to the very values that united us in AAP. Political ambition has surpassed commitment to the people and many promises remain unfulfilled.
He set an example of cleanliness of the Yamuna.
He wrote: ‘For example, we promised to make the Yamuna a clean river, but we could never do it. Now the Yamuna river is more polluted than before. Another painful thing is that instead of fighting for the rights of the people, we only fight for our political agenda. Due to this, the people of Delhi are facing difficulties in providing even basic services.
‘Are we still ordinary people?’
Kailash Gehlot wrote that there are many embarrassing and strange controversies like Naya Bangla, which are now making everyone doubt whether we still believe in being a common man. It is now clear that if the Delhi government continues to spend most of its time fighting with the Centre, nothing can happen to Delhi.

‘I began my political journey with a commitment to serve’
He said, ‘I started my political journey with a commitment to serve the people of Delhi and I want to continue doing so. That is why I am left with no option but to part ways with the AAP and resign from the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party.
He was involved in the race for the CM post.
Kailash Gehlot was also one of the leaders whose name was included in the race to become Delhi Chief Minister after Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of CM. Kailash Gehlot rose to fame after the controversy over the flag hoisting in Delhi. Kejriwal wanted Atishi to hoist the flag instead. While LG chose Kailash Gehlot. Kailash Gehlot then became emotional and described his leader as a “modern freedom fighter”.
The Emergency Department already investigated the alcohol scam
Kailash Gehlot, 50, won the Najafgarh elections in 2015 and is a two-time MP and minister. She currently holds the portfolios of Transport, Department of Revenue, Administrative Reforms, Ministry of Law, Ministry of Justice and Legislative Affairs and Ministry of Women and Child Development. The ED has already questioned Kejriwal in the same liquor scam case. Apart from this, he is also under the scanner of the Income Tax Department. The premises linked to him in a tax evasion case were also raided.
