The accident occurred near the Pepsi Bridge on Saturday night.
Panipat News (Aaj Samaj) Panipat: A truck traveling in the wrong direction through the city collides with the bicycle. In the accident, a young man who was riding a bicycle died instantly. While a young man was injured. The police reached the spot after receiving the information, took possession of the body and sent it for autopsy. The injured young man has been admitted to hospital for treatment. The police have registered a case against the truck driver. In the complaint filed with the police, Amit Saini of Kandhla village in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, said that he would reach Panipat on a bicycle with his brother Praveen Saini around 9:30 pm on November 16.
When both brothers started to climb the fourth lane on GT Road in front of the Pepsi Bridge, a big truck came from the front at high speed from the wrong direction. Which directly impacted his bike. As soon as the collision occurred, both brothers fell. After which the rear wheels of the truck ran over Praveen. So he died on the spot.
The driver abandoned the truck and fled.
After the accident, the accused fled, leaving the truck at the scene. The accident report was submitted to the police. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case of culpable homicide against the accused.
