- Lunch workers to march on Parliament on December 3 with various demands: Jai Bhagwan
(Bhiwani News) Bhiwani. On request of Haryana Midday Meal Workers Union, CITU related, immediate release from Central Government share, 12 months salary and minimum wage of Rs 26,000, retirement benefit of Rs 5 lakh, increase in age of retirement at 65 years, uniform allowance of 2 lakhs, protested demanding implementation of PF, ESI and granting permanent employee status and sent a memorandum to the Director through the Deputy Commissioner.
The rally was addressed by Midday Lunch Federation national leader and CITU Haryana general secretary Jai Bhagwan, CITU district secretary Com Anil Kumar, CITU district treasurer Kuldeep Barwa, district vice-president , Bhim Singh, and Democratic women’s leader Anuradha. CITU and union leaders said the central and state BJP governments are heavily exploiting lunch workers hailing from the weaker section of the society. Due to crippling inflation, it has become difficult for lunch workers and the general public to support their families.
In the last ten years, five thousand public schools have been closed, so not only canteen workers have lost their jobs, but poor children are deprived of an education. In such a situation, there is huge discontent among the mid-level employees against the BJP government. Given which, he warned about the intensification of the movement against the government of the country and the state. He called for massive participation in the parliamentary march that will be held on December 3 for the pending demands.
