Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust treasurer Swami Govinddev Giri on Sunday said it is wrong to call the political struggle a jihad vote. He said that it is wrong to call a political fight like this. Hindu society should fight against this. His reaction came at a time when the political temperature in Maharashtra is high on these issues.

During the assembly election campaign in Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is openly talking about the issue of jihad vote. He has called to attack him and respond with a crusade. Meanwhile, the Hindu saint said that earlier pamphlets were distributed but now slogans like voting jihad are being raised openly.

It is not correct to call the fight between parties a war – Govinddev Giri

Hindu saint Swami Govinddev Giri said while speaking to reporters that earlier instructions on who to vote for were given by distributing pamphlets at religious places. But now slogans such as voting for jihad are being openly raised. He said that voting is a right and responsibility of every citizen. It is a mistake to call a political struggle a war.

He said: ‘It is not correct to call the fight between two political parties a war. But vote jihad is being openly advocated, so Hindu society should fight against it without hesitation. The Hindu saint said that everyone has the right to vote.

Fadnavis called for a crusade for votes

Earlier, an Islamic scholar made an alleged call for voting jihad against the BJP-led grand alliance government. Referring to this, Fadnavis had called for an electoral crusade to counter this. Voting will be held on November 20 for all Maharashtra assembly seats in a single phase.
