The Telangana government has issued a notice to Diljit Dosanjh and ordered him not to sing songs containing alcohol, violence and drugs in his concerts. Diljit reacted on the alcohol issue
Diljit said: There is good news: I have not received any notice today. The fans start booing after hearing this. Then Diljit says there is more good news than this. I mean, even today I won’t sing any songs about alcohol. He asks why I don’t sing.
“I won’t sing because Gujarat is a dry state. Well, I have sung more than dozens of devotional songs. In the last 10 days, I have released two devotional songs. One about Shiv Baba and another about Guru Nanak Baba Ji. But no one talks about it .Everyone talks about Patiala Peg, if any actor talks to you, you will make the singer famous for singing about alcohol. I don’t ask anyone whether I am singing Patiala Peg or not.
“I won’t sing that either. Even today I won’t sing those songs, there is no tension. I don’t drink alcohol. But Bollywood stars advertise alcohol, Diljit Dosanjh doesn’t. Don’t bother me. Wherever I go, I stay quiet and start a movement. Here, if everyone declares themselves dry, the next day Diljit Dosanjh will not sing any song about alcohol in his life, it is possible.
