According to the agency, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that as per Government Order 41, the new electric vehicle policy will be implemented from Monday (November 18). The state government has decided to offer 100 per cent exemption on road tax and registration fees for electric vehicles for an initial period of two years till December 31, 2026. The purpose of this decision is to make Hyderabad contamination free.

State Government Road taxes and registration fees for electric two-wheelers and four-wheelers, commercial passenger vehicles like taxis, private cars, three-seater electric autorickshaws, electric light goods transport vehicles including three-wheeler goods vehicles , electric tractors and electric buses will give 100% discount.
In case of electric buses, this discount will be applicable only for the entire life of the electric vehicles operated by Telangana State Road Transport Corporation.
