A flash fire broke out in a three-storey welfare building in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, destroying the entire building. It is a relief that there is no news of any loss of life. Firefighters had to work hard for about two hours to control the fire. All the people present inside the building have been rescued safe and sound. It is still unclear how the fire started. It is believed that the cause of the fire could be a short circuit. Police registered the case and started investigation.
Last month, a major fire broke out at a shop in Kupwara, in which all the products stored in the shop were reduced to ashes. The fire in the Social Welfare building was so dangerous that flames were only visible on the third floor of the building. In the video you can see the entire building on fire.
A fire also broke out in a supermarket
Last month, a major fire broke out at a grocery store in Bramari area of Kupwara district. However, there were no casualties or damage to animals in the incident. According to the Indian Army, “The fire broke out around 10:30 pm on Tuesday night and quickly spread to nearby houses. Hamdard-e-Kupwara (41 RR) teams responded immediately after receiving information from Sarpanch and reached the spot with their resources. After this, all the residents along with the local population were evacuated successfully.
The army said Kupwara fire station and Payarpora substation had jointly dispatched fire services. Around 12:15 a.m., two fire engines arrived from Payarpora and two more from Kupwara and Trehgam. The fire was brought under control and completely extinguished by 02:30 am with the combined efforts of the Kupwara Fire Brigade, local people and the Indian Army. The Indian Army said the fire had caused serious damage to personal property in four houses, a shop and an animal shelter.
