On Sunday, police raided a massage parlor in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh and arrested 16 people, including nine women. They are accused of being involved in prostitution. This matter is from Mangala Pandey Nagar.
In this regard, Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Vikram Singh said that local residents had lodged a complaint against this massage parlor which comes under Civil Lines Police Station area. An illegal prostitution business was said to be carried out under the guise of a saloon.
According to the news agency report, based on the complaint, the police raided the massage parlor and arrested 16 people on the spot. Among those arrested are nine women and seven men.
Police also recovered CCTV footage from the massage parlour, which is being investigated. The additional superintendent of police said that based on these images and other evidence, more information is being collected in the case.
He also said the role of the owner and operator of the massage parlor is also being investigated. If sufficient evidence is found against them, strict legal action will be taken against them.
This incident has created commotion in the area and residents have appreciated the police action. Police say that in future such measures will also be taken to curb prostitution and other illegal activities.
