IPL 2025 Mega Auction: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 1,574 players had registered for this mega auction, of which a thousand players were out of the race. Now only 574 players will be auctioned in the mega auction. The auction will begin two days at 3:00 PM Indian time.

Players from 3 associated countries on auction list

During the mega auction, the 10 teams have a total of 204 players. This means that of the 574 players shortlisted for the auction, only a maximum of 204 will be sold. This time a total of Rs 641 million is left in the purse of the 10 teams. If you see, out of the 574 shortlisted players, there are 366 Indian players and 208 foreign players, including 3 players from partner countries. Players from associated countries include the names of Unmukt Chand, Ali Khan and Brandon McMullen.

These three players have kept their base price at Rs 30 lakh. Talking about Unmukt Chand, he has been a well-known face of Indian cricket. It was under Unmukt’s captaincy that India won the 2012 U-19 World Cup. Unmukt then made India champions by playing an unbeaten captaincy innings of 111 runs against the host team Australia in the final match. Chand has been a part of Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL. He last participated in IPL 2016 for Mumbai Indians.

Taking a big decision in August 2021, Unmukt Chand announced his retirement from Indian cricket. After this, he moved to the United States to start his cricket career again. Unmukt has not yet had the opportunity to debut for the United States. Unmukt did not earn a spot on the US team for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Unmukt, 31, is working hard to earn a spot on the American team.

Fast bowler Ali Khan was born in the Punjab province of Pakistan, although he came to the United States with his parents at the age of 18. Ali later obtained American citizenship. Ali Khan, 33, has played 15 ODIs and 16 T20 matches for USA. Ali Khan has taken 33 wickets in ODIs and 13 wickets in T20 Internationals. Ali was also part of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL, although he did not get the opportunity to debut.

Speaking of Brandon McMullen, he plays international cricket for Scotland. A right-handed batting all-rounder, McMullen has played 26 ODI and 16 T20I matches. During this period he scored 888 runs in ODIs and took 36 wickets. McMullen, 25, has 497 runs and 2 wickets to his name in T20 Internationals.

Money could rain on these players in the auction

If you see, in the list of 574 players, there are 81 players whose base price is 2 million rupees. While the base price of 27 players has remained at Rs 1.5 million. Apart from these, players with a base price of Rs 1.25, 1 crore, 75 lakh, 50 lakh, 40 lakh and 30 lakh are also included in the list. This time, big players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal will enter the auction. All of them have also been listed at a base price of Rs 2 crore. The list of foreign players includes stars such as Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc, Jos Buttler, David Warner, James Anderson, Trent Boult, Faf du Plessis.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) will have the highest amount of Rs 110.5 crore in the mega auction of IPL 2025. Punjab had retained only two players (Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh) before the auction. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has Rs 83 crore left in its portfolio, which is the second highest. Rajasthan Royals will have the lowest purse (Rs 41 crore) in the auction.
