A person from Kerala’s Thrissur has to face strict legal action for displaying inhumane behavior on the road. The police have taken significant action against the person for not giving way to the ambulance. For not giving way to the ambulance even after sounding the siren and horn, the vehicle owner was fined Rs 2.5 lakh and his driving license was revoked. A video of this incident also appeared on social media and is going viral.
The incident took place on November 7 in Chalakudy. The vehicle was reportedly heading from Ponnani to Thrissur Medical College. Dashcam footage shared by the ambulance driver shows the ambulance following the silver Maruti Suzuki Ciaz for over two minutes on the two-lane road. In the video you can see that the car drivers stop every attempt to pass in front of the ambulance. Here, the ambulance driver continuously honks his horn and also sounds his siren.
The agents identified the driver of the vehicle by his license plate. After this, the owner of the vehicle has been accused of blocking the passage of the ambulance, obstructing the exercise of the functions of the authority empowered by the Motor Vehicle Law and not having a pollution control certificate (PUCC).
Let us tell you that under section 194E of the Motor Vehicles Act, failure to give way to an ambulance can attract a prison sentence of up to six months or a fine of up to Rs 10,000 or both.
People got angry after watching the video.
A former user named Vijesh Shetty shared the video and wrote that a car owner in Kerala was fined Rs 2.5 lakh and his license was canceled for not giving way to an ambulance. This is crazy and an inhumane act. He further wrote that the Kerala police are very good.
