People forced to do work and study sitting at home, the Minister of the Environment called a high-level meeting

Delhi Pollution: Currently the situation of the population in the country’s capital is miserable. The situation is such that people are forced to remain confined to their homes. In view of the deteriorating air conditions in Delhi, Stage 4 of the GRAP was implemented. Many restrictions have been imposed under this. Trucks have been banned from entering Delhi, except those carrying essential commodities or providing essential services and all CNG or electric trucks. Apart from this, schools will remain closed for all classes except 10th and 12th.

You will not be allowed to enter Delhi.

Additionally, light commercial vehicles registered outside Delhi, other than CNG or BS-VI diesel vehicles, will not be allowed to enter Delhi, except those carrying essential commodities or providing essential services. There will also be a ban on plying of registered diesel vehicles and medium and heavy goods vehicles (MGVS and HGVS) in Delhi.

Temporary prohibition of construction activities.

According to the order, there will be a temporary ban on all construction activities, including highways, roads, flyovers and other public projects.

AQI level just below 500

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) issued the order after Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) reached the ‘severe’ category. The overall AQI of Delhi was recorded at 484. In such a situation, AQI in Delhi is clearly on the verge of touching the figure of 500. In many areas the AQI level is slightly below 500. The maximum AQI level was recorded in Dwarka 500, India Gate AQI 497, Bawana 495. Visibility has become extremely low due to both smog generated by pollution and cold fog.

Employees should work from home.

Apart from this, CAQM has suggested conducting online classes for students of classes 6 to 9 and 11. It also recommended that offices in the National Capital Region (NCR) function at 50 per cent capacity, while the rest of employees work from home.
