The entire North India, including Delhi, is currently in the grip of pollution. Delhi has become a gas chamber. The air has become so poisonous that many people have trouble breathing. In view of air pollution, Grape-4 has been implemented in Delhi. Meanwhile, Robert Vadra has posted on Facebook about the pollution.

Robert Vadra has said in a Facebook post that it is appalling to see that the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party have made the safety and well-being of the citizens of Delhi a matter of their own political interest. There is no battle of ideologies to win here. It is simply a matter of survival. The poisonous air does not care what caste or religion you belong to. He is an indiscriminate murderer. Now is the time to draw up a roadmap. The path to the solution begins with us.

Vadra said I think if there has ever been an occasion that required us to put aside our political differences, it is this one. Young children and older people are the most affected by this level of pollution compared to any other city in the world. This is an avoidable problem and it is time we came together for a productive debate. I believe that if we really use enough resources and talents that we have at our disposal, we can really find solutions.

He said China has been able to reduce its smog levels greatly by using technologies such as large-scale windmill-style fans (to remove the smog layer). I read that the Delhi government was planning to use helicopters to artificially seed rain clouds. Now is the time to implement these imaginative solutions. I’m sure brilliant environmentalists already have these solutions. Political disputes and achievements benefit no one.

What is GRAP?

GRAP-1: Poor (AQI 201-300)
GRAP-2: Very poor (ICA 301-400)
GRAPH-3: Severe (AQI 401 to 450)
GRAPH-4: Very serious (AQI greater than 450)

How effective is Grape 4?

The air quality crisis in Delhi-NCR is worsening every year. Because the air quality index (AQI) is in the severe plus category, normal life is severely affected. The government has implemented the fourth phase of the Graduated Response Action Plan (GRAP) as of today, which is considered the most stringent measure to address air pollution.

Last year, the first phase of GRAP was implemented in Delhi-NCR on October 6, the second phase on October 21, the third phase on November 2 and the fourth phase on November 5. In 2023, Uva 4 was in effect for a total of 14 days. On November 19, when the AQI level reached 319, Group 4 restrictions were lifted and instructions were given to remain in Group 3 until the air remained clear. Similarly, in the winter of 2022-23, Grape 4 had to be deployed for only 3 days.
