The first phase of voting for the assembly elections took place in Jharkhand. Now the second phase of voting will take place on November 20. Once voting is completed, the election results will be announced on November 23. Now, in the midst of elections, leaders of all parties are attacking their opposition parties in different ways. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and candidate Kalpana Soren accused the BJP of not supporting the JMM to address major issues of the public.
What did Kalpana Soren say?
Speaking to the media amid the assembly elections in Jharkhand, Kalpana Soren said, ‘The BJP has never supported us in our fight on public issues. Be it 27 per cent reservation for backward classes, Sarna-Tribal Dharma Samhita or the Local Resident Policy of 1932, we never supported it. We got them passed in the Assembly, but no one from the BJP side is fighting for the Jharkhand state issues. He further said that today, if we congratulate Maiya in Jharkhand, then BJP’s ‘PIL gang’ comes forward. JMM’s intentions are clear: we want to raise the issues of Jharkhand and social justice.
If Covid had not happened…
JMM leader Kalpana Soren further spoke: ‘Our tenure was short but still we worked. If Covid had not happened, our government would have remained full time. But during this short term in which Hemant Soren remained in prison for five months, we have worked for all sections. Kalpana Soren told the media that we want our youth to get jobs here and government schools to be further developed.
He said this about BJP
Attacking the BJP, Kalpana Soren said, ‘The twin-engine government has closed thousands of schools here, which shows its intentions. The BJP has not faced any crisis here in 5 years, but we are facing everything and still stand firmly behind the people of our state.
