The air in the country’s capital, Delhi, remains “poisonous.” Visibility was significantly reduced on Monday due to toxic smog. The Environment Minister of the Delhi Government has called a meeting on the increasing pollution in the capital and the implementation of GRAP-4. At the meeting with officials of concerned departments, the issue of strict implementation of Grape-4 rules was discussed. Later, Environment Minister Gopal Rai gave information at a press conference. He also accused the central government. He said half the country is affected by pollution and the central government ministers are silent.

Gopal Rai said that the entire north India is today in the grip of severe pollution. The elderly have trouble breathing. Nursery schools must close. People’s lives are being negatively affected. The AQI in Bahadur Garh is 477. Something similar is being seen elsewhere. The entire north India is facing the brunt of pollution and the central government is sleeping. Don’t you know where the Union Environment Minister is sitting silently?

Half the country is affected by pollution and ministers remain silent

Gopal Rai said that when half of the country is in the grip of pollution and it is time for everyone to work together, then the central government ministers remain silent. Our government has reduced the incidence of stubble in Punjab. We have reduced it from 47 thousand to 8 thousand. But cases are increasing under BJP governments. Incidents increase from 1,500 to 2,500.

Polluting BS-4 buses ply

He said polluting BS-4 buses ply all over Delhi. If the BJP central government, which came for the third time, had taken the right steps, then we would not have had to see this day. In August, we wrote a letter to the Union Minister to call a meeting between IIT Kanpur and the Delhi government so that artificial rain could be produced if pollution increases.

How long can you leave people unattended?

Gopal Rai said that the meeting has not been called till date after 3 months. How serious is the Central Government? There is still no answer as to whether the meeting will take place or not. How long can people suffering from pollution be left unattended? You will neither do the work nor allow it to be done. Regarding work from home, Gopal Rai said that he will take a decision after reading the Supreme Court order. Regarding the implementation of the odd-even system, he said that we are now monitoring and will take necessary measures.

Is artificial rain the solution to pollution?

Gopal Rai said that experts say there is no solution. We have to do it and give permission to the central government but the decision will be taken when there is a meeting. Scientists from IIT Kanpur will tell how artificial rain will be produced. We will inform you of the expenditure but the central government has not said anything for two and a half months.
