Congress cuts narrative on BJP slogans and plans set for last two days in Maharashtra-Jharkhand

Congress party leader

Today was the last day of election campaigning in the Maharashtra Assembly. The election campaign ended at five in the afternoon. On the last day of campaigning, all political parties were seen exerting all their strength. The election campaign in the Maharashtra Assembly elections was interesting. On one hand, Mahavikas Aghadi and on the other, Mahayuti were seen campaigning loudly in the election riots.

The Congress feels that the BJP in Maharashtra continuously used election slogans like “Batoge to Katoge” and Ek Hai to Safe Hai so that the elections could be polarized and the entire election could be Hindu versus Muslim. The Congress tried to keep the issue battle in the foreground in these elections so that it does not benefit the BJP and harm the Congress and Mahavikas Aghadi, but the BJP continued to work on the polarization strategy in the last phase. To some extent, the BJP also established this narrative.

Rahul Gandhi himself held a press conference in Maharashtra.

On the last day of election campaigning in Maharashtra, the Congress went all out to set the narrative of the issues. On the last day of campaigning, Rahul Gandhi tried to put an end to the BJP’s narrative by presenting five big promises of the Congress and Mahavikas Aghadi. In a way, Rahul Gandhi adopted a direct strategy to convey these great promises to the public and held a press conference.

What are the promises of Mahavikas Aghadi?

  • He will give 3,000 rupees a month to the women.
  • Women will have free bus service
  • Loans to farmers up to Rs 3 lakh to be waived
  • Rs 7,000 per quintal will be available for soybean
  • There will be a fair price committee for onion producers
  • There will be fair MSP for cotton
  • There will be a caste census in Maharashtra
  • Health insurance up to Rs 25 lakh
  • Aid of 4,000 rupees per month to the unemployed
  • Will provide 2.5 lakh government jobs

At the same time, Congress raised issues to counter BJP’s Ek Hai Safe Hai and at the same time, Rahul Gandhi tried to make local issues an important factor by mentioning the Dharavi project in Maharashtra. The Congress is trying to ensure that the vote on the core issues in Maharashtra is held at the last moment, hence the issues and assurances were presented. Now the challenge for party workers is to convey these five guarantees and Rahul’s issue to the people.

Coordination problems still persist

On the one hand, campaigning in the Maharashtra elections has stopped, but there is a strong debate in Mahavikas Aghadi that there remains a problem in coordination between the Shiv Sena Uddhav and the Congress. Congress sources say Uddhav Thackeray’s party has won more seats, but if its strike rate is not as good as that of the Lok Sabha, then Mahavikas Aghadi may suffer losses. The Congress is trying to save itself in the last phase and focus on the problems. At the same time, Mahavikas Aghadi’s fellow parties feel that Rahul Priyanka gave Wayanad more time than necessary, while Maharashtra needed it.

The conflict in Jharkhand is also due to the attitude of the Congress

Like in Maharashtra, there is also mutual tension within the Indian alliance in Jharkhand. In Jharkhand, the Congress and the JMM are together in an electoral alliance, but according to sources, the JMM is angry over the bad publicity of the Congress party in Jharkhand. According to sources, JMM believes that the Congress Party should have worked as hard in Jharkhand as it did in the election campaign in Wayanad.

Fear of losing due to a smaller congressional campaign

The alliance may also have to suffer losses due to less campaigning by the Congress. JMM feels that the Congress has sought seats to contest the elections, but if it acts on the lines of the Bihar Assembly, it may face difficulties in forming the government.

However, leaving aside what has happened in the last two days, the Congress’s strategy is to use all its might to take the issue of Rahul and the party’s assurances to every household so that elections can be held on its issues on the day of the vote. That means the entire strategy is for voting day on November 20, the result of which will be revealed on voting day on November 23.
