Gurugram Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg clearly said that within a week the complaints related to sewer overflow, sewer blockages and broken manhole covers in the corporation area should be resolved. Subsequently, if any complaint is received from any area, action will be taken against the person concerned.
The Municipal Commissioner gave the above instructions in a meeting held with the Engineering Branch in his office on Monday. He said that improving the functioning of the sewage network should be included as a high priority. All the junior engineers will have to visit their respective areas and submit reports in the next 3 days regarding the sewerage related complaints, the actions being taken to resolve them and the time limit for completion of the work.
He said that we have to work with greater sensitivity and provide better facilities to citizens, so that the image of the corporation can be improved. Furthermore, he said that all officials must be responsible and provide satisfactory facilities to citizens by ensuring. prompt resolution of complaints. If any citizen calls any official or employee with a complaint related to their area, then it is our responsibility to answer the phone and listen to their complaint.
There should be better cleaning measures before November 23rd.
The Municipal Commissioner told the sanitation officials present at the meeting that efforts should be made to improve the cleaning system of the corporation area in the next 5 days. Under this, all roads and streets must be cleaned periodically and verifiable garbage spots must also be cleaned. He said garbage carts parked at various locations need to be emptied every day. The Municipal Commissioner clarified that it is the responsibility of the Senior Sanitation Inspector, Sanitation Inspector and Sanitation Sub-Inspector to improve the cleaning system on the ground.
Whatever resources and manpower are needed for this, supply them and improve the cleaning system. The municipal commissioner said that he himself will inspect the place and if any deficiency is found, action will be taken against the person concerned. He also said that dust should not be seen on the central shoulder and side shoulder of the road in the path of the mechanized sweepers.
