Chandigarh (Aaj Samaj). The Punjab State Commission for Women, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 10 of the Punjab State Commission for Women Act, taking suo motu cognizance of matters relating to violation of rights, dignity and security of women, addressed an election rally in the Gidderbaha area. A show cause notice has been issued to former Punjab Chief Minister and current Lok Sabha MP Charanjit Singh Channi in the case of extremely objectionable and derogatory comments made against women.
The Women’s Commission has asked Charanjit Singh Channi to appear in person on November 19, 2024 at 11 am at the Punjab State Women’s Commission office, SCO No. 5, 1st Floor, Phase-1, SAS Nagar (Mohali) to give their clarification on this matter.
