The apolitical BKU protested the increase in the price of sugar cane and presented a memorandum

Ayodhya. Bharatiya Kisan Union Arajnaitik panchayat was organized at Tikunia Park of Tehsil Sadar. District president Arvind Yadav presided over the protest. Addressing the protest, the district president said that in view of inflation, the price of sugarcane should be increased to Rs 450 per quintal. He said that currently is a golden age for the sugarcane industry, but in this period the sugarcane farmer is not affected by it. It is also difficult to estimate the income of sugar mills from products made from sugar cane. Currently, the price of sugarcane should not be based on the price of sugar but on that of co-products. Ethanol, sugar, liquor, electricity, gas, etc. are produced from sugar cane. This year the prices of all products made from sugar cane have increased compared to last year. The cost of sugarcane production has increased due to a 25 percent increase in fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and farm wages. So the sugarcane producer demands to increase the price of sugarcane to Rs 450 per quintal.

At the end of the dharna, a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister through Tehsildar Gosaiganj was presented. District Women General Secretary Asma, Pradhan Ram Abhilash Yadav, Rajmani Yadav, JP, Surendra Yadav Shiva, Sunil Yadav, Ram Bachchan Maurya, Budhram Yadav, Ram Pyare etc. They were prominently present at the protest.
