Pollution is spreading in Delhi-NCR. Many measures were taken to stop this, but still there was no relief for the pollution. Starting today, Grape-4 rules have been implemented across the NCR. Entry of trucks and diesel vehicles was banned in Delhi. Traffic police were active at the Delhi border since morning. Uncontrolled vehicles were not allowed to enter. In view of the serious pollution situation, the Supreme Court ordered the closure of schools up to level 12 in NCR.
Delhi’s air quality crossed the very severe category on Monday and reached the worst level this season. In the evening, Delhi’s AQI was recorded at 494, the highest so far. Doctors are also very concerned about this. Doctors warned that poisonous air can not only harm people with health problems, but healthy people can also get sick due to exposure to this poisonous air.
These vehicles will not be allowed to enter Delhi
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has issued an order that no truck, except those carrying essential commodities or using clean fuel (LNG/CNG/BS-VI diesel/electric), will not be allowed to operate in Delhi. Entry will not be allowed. Light commercial vehicles registered outside Delhi, except electric vehicles (EVs), CNG vehicles and BS-VI diesel vehicles, will also be subject to the ban.
People should not go out without wearing masks – Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has ordered that people in NCR not leave their homes without wearing masks. Currently, the demand for air purifiers and masks has increased in Delhi-NCR. Merchants say they used to sell about 20 purifiers each day, sometimes even in two days. Now this number has doubled to 40 per day. Air purifiers have become essential for homes and more than 150 people come to buy them every day.
Demand increases to work from home in the Central Secretariat
An organization representing officials of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) has demanded work from home, staggered working hours and installation of air purifiers in all offices in view of the dangerous deterioration in air quality in Delhi. He says currently the pollution situation in Delhi is very dangerous. In such a situation, their health may be adversely affected when they come to office.
Noida DM Manish Verma held a meeting
Meanwhile, Noida DM Manish Verma has formed teams to monitor Grape-4 rules. The district magistrate met with officials from all departments. Schools were ordered to suspend outdoor activities. Instructions were given to spray water around the schools and completely stop construction. DM said a team will be formed and follow-up will be done. Measures will be taken against those carrying out the construction.
1,251 cases of stubble burning reported in Punjab in one day
Today in Punjab, 1,251 new cases of stubble burning in fields have been reported, the highest in a single day this season. Will the odd even rule be implemented soon?
Currently, the government is also considering imposing an odd-even rule in Delhi. Today the AQI in Delhi reached close to 500. Overnight 494 AOIs were recorded. The 500 mark may also be crossed tomorrow. Talking about other cities, Gurugram- 468, Ghaziabad- 430, Noida- 419, Bahadurgarh- 452, Bhiwani (Haryana)- 448, Bhiwadi (Rajasthan)- 449, Churu- 426, Dharuhera (Haryana)- 447, Hapur (UP) – 418, Jhunjhunu (413) Sonipat- The AQI was recorded at 412.
