Champions Trophy 2025: Champions Trophy 2025 will be organized on Pakistani soil. But the BCCI has refused to send the Indian team there. The ICC has informed PCB about this. In such a situation, it is speculated that the Champions Trophy will be held in a hybrid model. Because the BCCI wants the matches to be held in some other country. On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board remains firm in its stubborn attitude and has completely rejected the hybrid model. Rather, the PCB has sought clarification from the ICC as to why India does not want to travel to Pakistan.
PCB is waiting for response from ICC
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that if India has any concerns about sending its team to Pakistan, then they should talk to us and we will resolve them. I don’t think there is any reason for India not to come to Pakistan to play in the Champions Trophy. He said PCB has written a letter to ICC to get more information about BCCI’s decision. He said that we are in direct contact with the ICC and we are waiting for their response so that we can move things forward.
The ICC advises thinking about credibility
When asked, Naqvi will things get tougher for the PCB if Jay Shah takes over as ICC president from December 1? He said things don’t work that way. Each board is independent and has its own identity. I think the ICC should also think about its credibility because it represents all cricket forums in the world.
This time, Mohsin Naqvi avoided issues like removing cities from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) from the ICC Champions Trophy exhibition tour and organizing the tournament on a hybrid model. He said I have come here to talk about the stadium construction work. We await the announcement of the schedule along with a response from the ICC. We will complete the construction of stadiums in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi ahead of schedule.
