On the night of November 16, Jharkhand BJP posted a video on social site
The special thing is that on the evening of November 17, that is, after a few hours, action was taken on the complaint and the BJP also deleted the video. Following instructions from the Election Commission, the police also registered an FIR.
The complaint before the Election Commission also accused the BJP of making misleading statements, trying to divide the society and violating the Model Code of Conduct, and the Election Commission accepted the complaint of the JMM and the Congress and issued strict directions.
The question is: what was it in the video that even the Election Commission immediately swung into action?
And the question is whether the Election Commission’s action caused any loss to the BJP and whether JMM and the Congress, which filed the complaint, got any benefit.
What was in the video and complaint
In reality, the video was part of the BJP’s infiltration campaign. The video shows a house where a picture similar to that of Hemant Soren was hanging. Through the video, an attempt has been made to show him the house of a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha worker, where suddenly a lot of intruders arrive, and say that from now on they will stay there.
Tagging the Election Commission with Jharkhand BJP’s video release, JMM raised very pointed questions on social site X: Will there be such elections in the country now? How far will you let the country fall in the name of Hindu Muslims? Now wake up with a little shame… show some courage, the BJP has crossed all limits of shamelessness and pettiness.
The complaint filed with the Election Commission by JMM general secretary Vinod Pandey says that the code of conduct is being violated. Such propaganda must be stopped immediately and action must be taken.
JMM’s complaint was that posts were being made on the BJP’s official X handle in violation of the electoral code of conduct. Like JMM, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh also filed a complaint against the video.
Considering the complaint serious and taking action, the Election Commission issued several directions to the Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand. Along with directions to remove the video from the social media platform, Jharkhand BJP has been issued a notice and a response sought for violation of the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct. The police have also registered an FIR.
Should the question of infiltrators become an electoral issue?
The BJP had already started trying to make Bangladeshi infiltrators an electoral issue in Jharkhand, and was inspired by the slogan given by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Agra: If we divide, we will cut.
Like Yogi Adityanath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leader Amit Shah also raised the issue of infiltrators loudly. BJP president JP Nadda even accused JMM leader Hemant Soren and his government of procuring Aadhaar cards and voter ID cards made for infiltrators.
At a rally, JP Nadda explained to the people in his own way: “I have just received an intelligence report… it says that Bangladeshi infiltrators are given shelter here in madrassas… Aadhaar cards, voter cards, Get petrol The connection has been made easy.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been talking about fighting for tribal rights, but the BJP president accuses him of plundering Jharkhand’s water, forests, land and large-scale infiltration. And for their part they try to ensure that only the BJP government can stop the infiltration.
Did BJP benefit from the video?
Now, if we talk about the advantages and disadvantages that videos cause, then we will have to understand them a little more. First of all we have to understand what was the purpose of sharing the BJP video? And whether that goal was achieved or not.
That video remained on social media for less than 24 hours, but it must have had an impact. This video was published two days before the end of the election campaign deadline. The video was acted upon and removed the day before, and on the last day of the election campaign the content of the video remained in the media headlines.
In other words, the Electoral Commission responded to the complaint as quickly as possible and did everything it could. Now the video of the vote has been removed from social media, but what was the message of the video? That message has already reached the people.
If seen, the message that was going to be given to voters by posting the video was easily conveyed. The BJP tried from the beginning to make infiltrators a problem, and was successful in its mission; It remains to be seen what the result is.
