Comment on Savarkar: Rahul Gandhi did not appear in court, now order has been issued again

Raul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi was asked to appear before a court in Pune, Maharashtra. Satyaki Savarkar, grandson of Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, had filed a defamation complaint against Rahul Gandhi, in which the court had asked him to appear before the court, but Rahul Gandhi did not appear before the court. He explained that he did not receive the summons.

In fact, Satyaki Savarkar said in a complaint filed against Rahul Gandhi in the Pune court that Rahul Gandhi, who traveled to London in March, had said in one of his speeches that Savarkar expressed in a book his happiness over the beating received by a Muslim. It is. In the complaint, Satyaki said that Rahul Gandhi wrote in Savarkar’s book that 5 or 6 of his friends had once beaten a Muslim. This made him very happy. A petition against this was filed before the court, in which it was clearly stated that Savarkar had not written this in any book. In the preliminary investigation by Vishrambag police into this matter, the allegation was found to be true.

Summons issued on October 23

In this case, after the hearing on October 4 under the chairmanship of Joint Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Amol Shinde, Rahul Gandhi was asked to appear before the court. A summons was also issued for this on October 23. This hearing took place in the MP/MLA court. But Rahul Gandhi did not appear in court. He said he had not received any citations.

Satyaki Savarkar’s lawyer Kolhatkar told the media that he appealed to the court on Monday to issue summons to Rahul Gandhi to appear before the court.
