A shocking incident came to light in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, where thieves cut the pipeline supplying oxygen to the PICU ward of the Maharishi Deorha Baba Medical College. The thieves cut the oxygen tube and sold it in a scrapyard. When this matter was revealed, there was a huge uproar. Due to the interruption of the oxygen supply, the lives of the admitted children could have been in danger. In such a situation, the oxygen supply was started immediately by installing a cylinder.
This incident of oxygen pipe theft came to light when oxygen was being supplied in the PICU ward, but its pressure was reduced. After which oxygen was immediately provided to the children by installing oxygen cylinders kept in the ward.
When the reason for the lack of oxygen was discovered after going behind the PICU room, several feet of severed tubing was found. Seeing this, the medical administration was shocked. The police were informed immediately. The police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation and began searching for the thief.
Meanwhile, a young man searched behind the PICU room at the School of Medicine again to commit another robbery. But the security personnel deployed at the hospital caught him and handed him over to the police. After interrogation, another of his associates was arrested.
In this regard, Sadar Kotwali police station in-charge Dilip Kumar Singh said that Mohammad Parvez and Sumit Kumar alias Bullet have been arrested in the case. He is a resident of Bhatwalia of the city and his age is around 19 or 20 years. Both young people are drug addicts. They used to meet their drug needs by cutting oxygen pipes made of copper and selling them in scrapyards.
According to the police station in charge – On Saturday night, when a young man went to collect the pieces of cut pipe, the security personnel deployed there caught him. When the young man was searched, pieces of copper oxygen tubing were found. After which the security personnel handed the young man over to the police post located at the Medical College. After strict interrogation, he spoke about his other partner. Currently, the police have registered a case against both of them and sent them to jail.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the Medical College Administration, Dr HK Mishra said that a pipe was cut and stolen from the PICU ward a few days ago. This sequence continued continuously. Meanwhile, when a young suspect appeared last Saturday night, he was captured by security personnel. The pipe is made of copper, so it sells very expensive.
