Mumbai: Just a day before voting in Maharashtra, Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Vinod Tawde has been accused of distributing cash among voters. Bahujan Vikas Aghadi has made this allegation against Tawde. BVA alleges that BJP leader Tawde has distributed money to voters in Thane. At the same time, the BJP leader has rejected these allegations. Bahujan Vikas Aghadi workers raised slogans and accused Tawde of distributing Rs 5 million in cash. Amid the commotion, police officers also arrived at the hotel and tried to sort out the matter.
“If the Electoral Commission wants, it can carry out the investigation”
Bahujan Vikas Aghadi leaders have demanded an investigation into Tawde’s vehicle. MVA leader and MLA Kshitij Thakur claimed that Tawde’s newspaper confirms the transaction. Tawde’s father Hitendra Thakur claimed that the BJP leader had called him several times and apologised. At the same time, BJP leader Tawde strongly rejected all allegations. He said: ‘I wasn’t distributing the money. I had gone to explain the rules of the code of conduct to him. If the Election Commission wants, it can carry out the investigation. If the police want, they can have the CCTV footage reviewed.
Uddhav Thackeray’s reaction came to light
Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray has also given his reaction on this matter. He said that when I was going to meet Maa Tuljabhavani, the Election Commission officials checked my bag. Thackeray said, “However, they found nothing.” Now it has come to light that money has been found in Vinod Tawde’s bag. Yesterday’s attack on Anil Deshmukh and where the stones came from should also have been investigated. I pray to Mother Tuljabhavani that this corrupt and terror-spreading government be uprooted from the State. Responding to this issue, Sanjay Raut said that Thakur is doing the work that should be done by the Election Commission.
