Changes in eligibility for JEE Advanced 2025

The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has revised the eligibility criteria for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025, reducing the number of attempts to two. Now candidates will only be able to take the exam twice. We informed that in an earlier notification, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) had announced that candidates can take the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced three times in consecutive years.

However, this policy has now been revised, reducing the number of attempts allowed to two and returning to the previous eligibility standard. This means that candidates who appeared for JEE Advanced in 2024 are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025. Notably, candidates who appeared for JEE Advanced 2023 or earlier will not be eligible to take the exam in 2025. Please note that other eligibility criteria Eligibility will remain the same as reported in the recent notification.

The official notice read: “The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has reinstated the previous eligibility criteria used in previous years regarding number of attempts in JEE (Advanced) in place of the criteria mentioned in the press release on 5 November 2024. “This was done after considering various competitive requirements at the JAB meeting held on November 15, 2024. As a result, all other eligibility criteria have been reset to the same than before 2013.”
