It has been 1,000 days since the war between Russia and Ukraine and there is now the danger of the use of nuclear weapons in this war, which can fuel World War III. There are many reasons behind the fear of using nuclear weapons. US President Joe Biden has given Ukraine permission to attack inside Russia with US weapons. In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin also changed his nuclear policy. Both decisions have increased the risk of conflict between the two superpowers and of a Third World War.

World War III?

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and former Russian president, said: ‘Russia’s new nuclear doctrine means that NATO missiles fired at our country will be considered an attack against Russia. Russia can retaliate with WMD (nuclear weapons) against kyiv and key NATO targets, wherever they are located. This means a third world war.

Putin changed the policy of using nuclear weapons.

On Tuesday, Putin signed a decree in an open warning to the West and Ukraine, setting limits on the circumstances under which Moscow can use nuclear weapons. Vladimir Putin has said that if a non-nuclear-powered country attacks Russia with the support of a nuclear-powered country, then it will be considered a declaration of war against Russia.

He said that if ballistic missiles are used against Russia, a nuclear attack may also be carried out in response. Putin has made this change in his country’s nuclear doctrine. So that countries that support Ukraine cannot attack it. The United States and many European countries have recently allowed Ukraine to use long-range weapons. After which Putin has taken this step.

What changed regarding Putin’s decision?

According to the changes introduced by Putin, if any country carries out a drone attack against Russia, it can also be responded to in the form of a nuclear deterrent. The Russian army will give an appropriate response to such an attack. If any weapon crosses the Russian border and comes from air or space, it will be considered a war against Russia. Russia can use nuclear weapons in such a situation.

If Russia felt there was a threat to its country and its citizens, then it could also deploy nuclear missiles and missile defense systems. So that an adequate response can be given to the enemy attack. In the event of an attack from space, Russia will activate its anti-missile defense system. Attacks can also be performed in space. Nuclear deterrence can also be used in these types of attacks.

Why did Putin make these changes?

In fact, before leaving office, US President Biden gave Ukraine permission to use US-made weapons to attack inside Russia. With this, Ukrainian soldiers will now be able to use the Army Tactical Missile System or ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile Systems). According to sources, Ukraine plans to launch long-range attacks against Russia in the coming days.

“Biden’s decision will lead to World War III”

Ukrainian President Zelensky several months ago requested permission for his military to use American weapons to attack Russian military targets from across the country’s border. Russian parliamentarians warned that this measure by the Biden administration will further escalate the war. Vladimir Dzhabarov, a Russian deputy, has said that this is a big step towards the start of World War III. Donald Trump Jr. has accused the Biden administration of increasing global tension to start World War III even before his father is sworn in on January 20.
