A day before the elections in Maharashtra, former Pune IPS officer Ravindranath Patil made a huge allegation against NCP (SP) leader and Baramati MP Supriya Sule and Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole . The former IPS officer alleged that both leaders had misappropriated Bitcoin from the 2018 cryptocurrency fraud case. It has been used for the ongoing assembly elections in Maharashtra. Patil says he is willing to support the investigation.

The former IPS officer alleged that the then Pune police commissioner Amitabh Gupta and the then deputy commissioner of police in-charge of cyber crime investigation Bhagyashree Nautke were involved in the misappropriation of Bitcoins. It is being used by both political leaders.
He spent 14 months in jail – former IPS officer
Former IPS officer Ravindranath Patil said: “My company called me as a cryptocurrency expert to investigate a case in 2018. I was arrested in that case in 2022 on charges of fraud. I spent 14 months in prison after a trial. During that time I I asked, what had happened? What was the problem? Why were they incriminating me? There were other colleagues with me.

Adding to this, the former IPS said, ‘There is a witness against us, Gaurav Mehta, who is an employee of an audit firm called Sarathi Associates. The day before yesterday he called me several times for 4-5 hours, but I didn’t answer. Finally, when I responded he told me that in 2018 when Amit Bhardwaj was arrested. I had a cryptocurrency hardware wallet. That wallet was exchanged by the then commissioner Amitabh Gupta and another wallet was kept. They arrested us but the real culprit was Amitabh Gupta and his team.
The names of these two leaders were taken
The former IPS officer said, ‘He (Gaurav Mehta) took the names of two IPS officers, Amitabh Gupta and Bhagyashree Nautke. He took the names of two people, one is Supriya Sule and Nana Patole. Patil alleged that after this he told me that Bitcoin is being used in this assembly elections.
Financing done in Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections
Patil further alleged that Bitcoin money was used to finance the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. Patil claims to have voice notes allegedly sent by alleged witness Gaurav Mehta.
Former IPS officer Ravindranath Patil said, ‘Supriya Sule sent three voice note messages, in which she is heard asking Gaurav to redeem the bitcoin as funds are needed for the elections. She is also heard assuring them that they will not worry about the investigation and that they will take care of it once they come to power.
