In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Railways use Cantt land along with Income Tax, BSNL, CGST. Which tax is collected by the Cantt in the form of service charge. Service charges worth millions of rupees are still pending payment from these companies. In this regard, Lucknow Central Command director N Satyanarayana first arrived in Meerut to collect service charges and other taxes from the Cantt Board. He spoke to officials from Income Tax, BSNL, CGST and Railways. The officials assured the director that he will deposit the charges when the budget arrives. Satish Sharma, designated board member, also apprised the director about the problems of common people. He said that the proposal to include the Cantt Board in the Municipal Corporation has already been sent to the government. But the proposal has not yet been worked on. Which is why the public is worried.

Director N Satyanarayana said the offices of Income Tax, BSNL, CGST and Railways are in the Cantt land. According to the Cantt Board Act, taxes are collected from the concerned department as service charge, which is used for the personal work and beautification of the Cantt Board. But the department did not deposit the tax for many years. He said the service charge of Rs 3 crore should be taken from Income Tax Department, Rs 12 crore from Railways, Rs 12 crore from CGST and Rs 17 crore from BSNL.

In this regard, Cantt Board CEO Zakir Hussain wrote a letter to the department and informed. But the service charge was not deposited. N Satyanarayana spoke to the senior officials of the concerned department and asked where to deposit the service charge. He says if despite this the department does not file charges, action will be taken against them as per rules.

Satish Sharma, nominated member of the Cantt Board, said that if the board had collected the service charge on time, this money would have been used for salaries of the employees and beautification of the Cantt Board. But the Central Command had to come to Meerut to recover crores of rupees. Briefing the Central Command about the issues of the public, he said that Cantt MLA and he have proposed to include the bungalow area in the Municipal Corporation. Brainstorming is underway at the government level. Lucknow Central Command Director N Satyanarayana also said that the Railways have written several letters regarding the Railways dues and dues since 1982. Their dues have not arrived since a long time.
