There will be a meeting between India and Bangladesh
After the fall of the Awami League government in Bangladesh, a high-level meeting between Bangladesh and India will be held in the capital Dhaka in December next month. This will be the first official high-level meeting between the two countries after the current tension in Bangladesh. After the coup in Bangladesh, this meeting is considered very important.
An official from the Ministry of External Affairs informed that this meeting will be headed by Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Jashim Uddin and Foreign Secretary of India Vikram Misri. According to the official, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh is preparing the necessary agenda for the meeting and a preparatory meeting in this regard will be organized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, November 20. At this meeting the development of existing agreements and decisions made in previous meetings will be discussed.
Extradition demand of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
There were signs of strain in relations between India and Bangladesh after the overthrow of the Awami League government and New Delhi’s decision to grant asylum to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh’s top advisor Professor Mohammad Yunus, in his address to the nation on November 17, said that the Ministry of External Affairs will seek the extradition of Sheikh Hasina from India.

Many projects were stopped due to the tension.
Since the fall of the Awami League government, the Indian High Commission has limited visas issued to Bangladeshi tourists. Apart from this, many projects under the Indian Credit Facility are also stuck because Indian contractors are yet to return to Bangladesh due to security reasons.
Meanwhile, Foreign Advisor Tauheed Hussain said Dhaka will review agreements and MoUs signed with India in recent years. Advisers to the interim government said some Indian media outlets are exaggerating attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, which is not good for bilateral relations and is affecting relations between the two countries.
