Assembly elections are being held today in Maharashtra. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP candidate from Baramati assembly constituency Ajit Pawar along with his wife Sunetra Pawar cast their vote at Katewadi Zilla Parishad primary school polling booth today. After casting his vote, he spoke to the media and spoke about his candidacy and the upcoming elections.
Ajit Pawar said, “Even in the Lok Sabha elections, our family members were competing with each other and everyone saw this. I met as many people as I could in Baramati and presented my case. I hope this time the people of Baramati make me victorious. ” Along with this, he also gave a statement regarding the allegations of money distribution against Vinod Tawde. “The people of Baramati will think about this and the election results will be based on it,” he said.
Baramati people will not forget Sharad Pawar: Yugendra Pawar
This time there is a contest between uncle and nephew for the Baramati assembly seat, which is considered the stronghold of the Pawar family. Ajit Pawar is the NCP candidate, while Sharad Pawar’s NCP-SP has given the ticket to Yugendra Pawar for this seat. Yugendra Pawar said in his statement: “I have 100% confidence that the people of Baramati will not forget Sharad Pawar and will bless us.”
This time the political equation is different in Baramati
Let us tell you that Sharad Pawar broke away from the Congress in 1999 and founded the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). In the 1999 assembly elections, he gave ticket to Ajit Pawar from Baramati assembly. Ajit Pawar managed to win the elections. After this, Ajit Pawar has continuously won as an NCP candidate in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019. However, this time the political equation is different. Now there is a split in the NCP. One is Sharad Pawar’s group and the other is Ajit Pawar’s group. Sharad Pawar’s NCP-SP is with Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), while Ajit Pawar’s NCP is in power in the state with Mahayuti.
