Cyclone Dana continues to make landfall in the eastern region of the country. The landfall occurred between Dhamra and Hablikhati Nature Camp in Bhadrak district of Odisha at 12:45 am on Thursday night. Its speed upon touching down was 100 kilometers per hour. Strong winds of 100 to 120 kilometers per hour are currently blowing in Odisha and Bengal. Rains continue in many areas of Odisha and West Bengal. After Cyclone Dana, trees were uprooted in many areas of Odisha, resulting in road closures. At the same time, strong winds destroyed farms, gasoline pumps broke, and tin store sheds were blown away.
At the same time, the Meteorological Department says that after the landfall is completed, more heavy rain is possible in coastal areas. All safety measures have been taken to deal with Cyclone Dana in Odisha and West Bengal. Teams from NDRF, SDRF and district administration are deployed in the storm-affected areas. As a precautionary measure, 10 lakh people have been shifted from 14 districts of Odisha. At the same time, 3.5 lakh people have been sent to safe places in West Bengal. Due to the storm, 300 flights and 552 trains were canceled in Bengal and Odisha.
