This is a very sensitive and disputed area of the world called the Golan Heights. On the one hand, the Israeli army is deployed here, while on the other, there are many bases of proxy organizations in Syria. Syria wants to retake the Golan Heights, but Israel has established more than 30 settlements in this area. Now the deployment of the Russian army near this area has increased.
Army deployed to help proxy organizations
Russia has been helping proxy organizations for the past few months. Russia is supplying weapons to proxy organizations. Now the military is deployed to help the proxy organizations. The Russian army had started construction work on a post near the Golan Heights since January, but now Russian soldiers have been deployed here in full equipment.
Experts say the presence of Russian troops near the Golan Heights will not only help proxy organizations but also provide security. Israel has carried out airstrikes in Syria several times in the past. Now, if the fighters of the proxy organization establish bases around the Russian posts, it will be very difficult for Israel to attack.
Russia can supply weapons to proxy organizations
The Golan Heights have been occupied by Israel since 1967. Israel captured the area after 6 days of war. Now there are 30 settlements and 25,000 Jews live here. The UN-supervised buffer zone separates the area occupied by Israel from the area controlled by Syria. Proxy organizations have often been attacking Israeli-occupied areas. Hezbollah has also attacked this area several times.
It is believed that Russia will now easily bring weapons to this area on behalf of its military and that the same weapons may be delivered to proxy organizations. The Russian army base can also prove to be a safe area for the big leaders of the proxy organization to hide.
