New Delhi: The situation is bad in Delhi due to pollution. In such a situation, the Delhi government has taken a big decision. To reduce pollution in Delhi, the Delhi government has decided to implement a work-from-home policy in government offices.
What is the meaning of this decision?
As per this decision, 50% of Delhi government employees will work from home. For its implementation, a meeting will be held with officials at 1:00 p.m. today at the Secretariat.
The Environment Minister had recently said this
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on Tuesday that a decision would be taken soon on implementing work-from-home measures and the odd-even scheme to address the city’s deteriorating air quality. Gopal Rai had said that people including children and elderly people are having difficulty breathing and we deeply regret this situation.
He said the air quality in Delhi has remained in the severe plus category since Sunday. Regarding the implementation of work from home in private and government companies in Delhi, the minister said that we will take a decision on this soon. The government has already imposed several restrictions on vehicles under Grape-IV. We are analyzing the impact of these measures. Later it will be decided whether vehicles circulate in the capital according to the odd-even formula.
Gopal Rai had also said that ‘GRAP’ should be implemented across North India. Addressing the BJP, he had said that rules are being violated in BJP-ruled states. The BJP environment minister is sleeping despite repeated requests from the Delhi government to call an emergency meeting on the serious pollution situation. I request the Union Environment Minister to once again call an emergency meeting on pollution and allow artificial rain.
