Call for towns to be clean, green and pollution-free
Punjab CM News (Aaj Samaj), Sangrur: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann appealed to all Sarpanches and Panches of the state to make efforts to convert their villages into modern development centres. Mann said the state government supports the Panchayats in every good work and lack of funds should not hamper development. Mann said that Panchayats are the basis of democracy in our country and the development of the country begins in the villages. The more our villages prosper, the more prosperous our country will be.
Distribute development work on a priority basis.
Addressing a gathering before taking oath to the newly elected panches of Sangrur district, the Chief Minister said that the panchayats should distribute the development works of their villages on priority basis so that the state government can start the works. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Panchayats should pass resolutions for the overall development of the villages for which the state government will support them in all their efforts. He asked the newly elected Panches to take further steps to ensure the progress and prosperity of the villagers as well as transform their villages into development centres.

It is an honor to be chosen by the public
The Chief Minister said that being elected by the public is a matter of pride as it shows the trust and honesty that the people have in the leader. He said that this is a great responsibility that citizens entrust to these leaders.
The Chief Minister appealed to everyone to plant maximum trees to rejuvenate the villages of the state by creating a constructive environment for planting more and more trees. He said it is everyone’s responsibility to make Punjab clean, green and pollution free. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that on one hand there is a need to improve the environment of the state and on the other hand there is a need to stop pollution.
