Punjab Weather Alert: Fog intensifies and temperature drops in Punjab

Meteorology issues yellow alert for fog for the next four days

Weather alert in Punjab (Aaj Samaj), Chandigarh: Winter has started gaining momentum in Punjab due to fog and lack of sunshine. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for fog for the next four days. So there is the possibility of increased cold and decreased temperature. On Tuesday the nighttime temperature was close to normal with a drop of 1.5 degrees, while on Monday it was recorded 2.2 degrees above normal.

Day and night temperatures were recorded below normal in Ludhiana and Patiala. The Meteorological Department has forecast dry weather for the next five days. On the other hand, increased fog and cold is beneficial for other crops, including wheat. Agricultural scientists say this will increase crop germination.

Increase in accidents due to smog and school van hit by a car

Visibility has been reduced due to fog. So the risk of accidents has increased. A van full of schoolchildren suffered an accident on Tuesday in Mansa. Many children have been injured in this traffic accident. The accident took place near the Jakhal-Bareta highway bridge, situated in Mansa’s Budhlada. Where a speeding car collided with the school van. Between six and seven children, the driver and a policewoman who was traveling in the van were injured.

The injured were shifted to Budhlada government hospital.

After the accident, the injured were shifted to the Budhlada government hospital. As soon as information about the accident was received, DSP Budhlada Gamdur Singh Chahal and SHO City Sukhjit Singh reached the hospital and inquired about the welfare of the injured. In the accident, the van driver Sukhpal Singh (35), school employee Balveer Devi (50), student Navjot Kaur (14), Amandeep Kaur (12), Manveer Singh (10), Tamanna (3) , Vanshika (7) and Shivam (6) Gurleen Kaur (6) was injured. Brezza’s driver Yogesh Sharma (45) and his son were also injured. He has been admitted to a private hospital.
